Discovering My Path

Over the past decade, I’ve been committed to designing engaging and accessible learning experiences that close skill gaps and align with organizational goals.
My journey began as a high school STEM teacher, then expanded into online learning and EdTech. These experiences led me to instructional design path that’s been challenging yet rewarding. Along the way, I faced personal challenges, including cancer treatment, two surgeries, and an international relocation, which deepened my empathy for learners’ needs and taught me the value of flexible, accessible, and purpose-driven learning solutions.

Building Impact with Purposeful Design

In 2017, I co-founded Examian Synergies Limited, an EdTech company that tackles the digital divide by offering students across West Africa equitable access to exam preparation. As Co-Founder and Learning Strategist, I focused on making assessments accessible and data-driven, a need that became urgent when regional exams shifted to Computer-Based Testing, causing a spike in failure rates.
I collaborated with subject matter experts to develop assessments . With built-in analytics and adaptive learning insights, our platform empowered both students and educators to see progress in real time, adjusting strategies for continuous improvement. This impact became especially meaningful during the COVID-19 pandemic when we offered free resources to over 15,000 students, bridging gaps in exam readiness and advancing educational equity.

Designing for Real-World Impact

My most recent project with Gritford Learning Centre as  a  Curriculum Developer and LMS Administrator on digital skills training project backed by the World Bank and Nigeria’s Federal Ministry of Education. Through backward design, I structured content to align with real learning outcomes, ensuring value for both learners and the organizations involved.

Supporting Students to Reach Their Full Potential

Today, I continue to support learners as an Education Assistant with the Catholic District School Board. In this role, I provide tailored guidance to help students reach their individual learning goals, meeting them where they are and empowering them to grow. Each day, I see firsthand the difference that thoughtful, differentiated instruction can make in a student’s journey.

Beyond Work

Outside of work, I am passionate about giving back. Through my initiative, Social Media: Whom Do You Follow? I coach young people and parents on safe, intentional internet use, fostering media literacy and critical thinking skills that are essential today. Journaling is also a personal passion, one that allows me to reflect and refine my approach to creating learner-centered experiences. This reflective practice has been instrumental in my growth, grounding me and shaping my purpose.

This blend of experience, resilience, and continuous growth shapes my instructional design approach in making learning purposeful, inclusive, and transformative.
